TechCrunch and others are reporting? that CBS is super happy about their YouTube partnership.? They specifically note a 5% increase in viewers on the David Letterman show as a result of displaying? copyrighted CBS content on YouTube. Michael Arrington makes an excellent point when he writes, “Content owners are trying to figure out what to do and how to do it before offline television dies.”

Adobe Kuler, Chinese porn and security flaws for the holidays

There’s an Adobe Labs project designers should check out. Adobe Kuler is the name and is basically an interactive? color wheel, elegantly appointed with all the latest functionality including rich corinthian, web 2.0 trimmings. It’s super easy to use and in my opinion, more valuable than several other Adobe products that are still being supported.

Educators teaching color theory will probably love this. Programmers that need to translate or look up color values will save time using this. Webmasters and designers will go home earlier after style guide meetings and the world will soon be a more colorful place. Go to http://kuler.adobe.com.

Finally, there’s? some other news out there today.

A Chinese court sentenced the owner of a porn site to life in prison.

CNET is also reporting multiple security flaws in IE, Firefox and OS X in time for the holidays.

Matt Cutts debunks another myth about web hosting and Google’s algorithm at his blog.

NoSlang.com for parents, Zune on sale, Quad Cores Coming

Stefanie Olsen? at CNET.com quotes Ryan Jones from NoSlang.com saying, “A lot of teens get mad that I’m cluing parents into their little warnings.”

That’s because Ryan deciphers the little acronyms that teens use to hide their online prose. If you’re a parent, you know the drill. You walk up behind your teen as they’re chatting and you see some three letter acrnyms appear like, “MOS” which means, “Mom over shoulder.” NoSlang.com won’t just keep you informed, it’ll keep you cool.

Speaking of teens and being cool, Microsoft’s Zune went on sale Tuesday in time for the holiday shopping wars. Also shipping in time for the Holidays will be machines with the new Intel Quad Core processors.

and finally, Adobe has released the Flash Player 9 for Windows and Macs.

Use technology to build and describe your trust relationships

Posted by Fred on November 16, 2006
Web Pro News / Comments Off

I found an interesting quote recently. So this is an excerpt from a blog quoting an online? newspaper. The closest I could get to the source was the online newspaper. So I may be putting too much trust in the source but here goes:

According to Crawford Kilian’s? excerpt from? The Guardian,? ? Sir Tim Berners-Lee believes devotees of blogging sites take too much information on trust: he says, “The blogging world works by people reading blogs and linking to them. You’re taking suggestions of what you read from people you trust. That, if you like, is a very simple system, but in fact the technology must help us express much more complicated feelings about who we’ll trust with what.”

I think it’s critically important to always seek out the source of the information. Whenever possible, we make the call or? make a visit? to get the story first-person. We will continually build on your trust and all our sources are always listed on this site.

The open-source clearing house continues as Sun releases Java under a General Public License (version 2). The source code became available today. I’m a bit surprised this didn’t make bigger news and there isn’t any clear indication of what impact it might have.
